FINANCIAL TIMES RANKS IVEY
#1 IN GREATER CHINA
(Hong Kong, June 13, 2006) Ivey’s Executive Education
was again ranked No.1 in Greater China by the
Financial Times in its 2006 worldwide
survey. The comprehensive rankings are based on the combined
strength of a school’s custom programs,
which are tailor-made for individual corporations, and public
programs, which are available to executives from a
broad range of companies. These rankings are based predominantly
on feedback from executive education alumni and conversations
with key corporate contacts. Schools were evaluated against
criteria such as faculty, course design, teaching materials,
follow-up, new skills and learning, facilities, quality of participants
and aims achieved. No other university in Greater China was
ranked among the overall top 40 international business schools.
Ivey’s custom programs ranked significantly
ahead of several well-known US schools (University of Virginia,
University of California at Los Angeles, University of Wisconsin
- Madison). Ivey is highly regarded for its follow-up
work (1st in Asia), consortium programs
(1st in Asia), faculty (1st in Greater China)
and its teaching materials (1st in Greater
China). Almost 40% of Ivey’s custom program participants
commute to Ivey from around the world. Such diversity contributes
towards the learning of every participant in the class.
In the open enrolment programs category, Ivey’s
senior executive programs, including the Ivey Consortium Executive
Program taught by Ivey faculty at its Hong Kong campus, placed
7th in the world. Its general management programs, including
the Accelerated Management Talent Program also taught by Ivey
faculty at its Hong Kong campus, placed 10th in the world.
Professor Kathleen Slaughter, Associate Dean
& Executive Director of Ivey’s Hong Kong campus notes
